My professional life depends on rationally separating facts from fiction, evidence-based economic analysis, data-driven decision-making, and real-world experience. In fact, I’ve even written about the difference between truth, fiction, and propaganda. So, what I’m about to share with you is not coming from somebody who shouts “conspiracy!” without substantial evidence.
Background Summary. As some of you know, I recently wrote a nonpartisan book, Broken Capitalism: This Is How We Fix it, which became a best-seller on Amazon (Yes, there is proof). The book has received very positive reviews; so there’s nothing gimmicky about it. Prior to publishing the book, this website (Eanfar.org) was on the first page of Google’s search results for several important keywords associated to capitalism, economics, political economy, and corporate governance. Then, shortly after publishing the book, Eanfar.org is now completely gone from Google.
The Data. The following chart comes directly from the “Webmaster Tools” console that Google provides to webmasters to track their website performance. As you can see, Eanfar.org ranked in the top-3 websites on the first page of Google’s search results all the way until July 19th. Then it suddenly disappeared completely. No page rank at all, no explanation—just a silent vacuum in cyberspace.
No Justification for Injustice. I have a technical background and I know how search engine optimization (SEO) works. I’m aware of all the common “black-hat” techniques that unscrupulous website administrators use to manipulate their search results. I don’t use those techniques because I understand the negative consequences of getting caught by the search engines and my life usually doesn’t revolve around this website; so, using black-hat techniques is not worth the headache. Thus, there is no justification for me to be punished by lord Google.
Contacting Google. I systematically analyzed the Eanfar.org website to see if I had accidentally broken any Google laws. As expected, I did not. Of course, the next logical step was to contact Google directly and explain the situation, including the steps I took to ensure I was compliant with all the Google laws. (You can see the full text of that message if you want.)
Google’s Non-Response. I’ve communicated with people in various departments at Google many times over the years; so I know how quickly they can respond when they want to. In this case, they never responded. And in case they never received the first message, I re-sent the message. Still no response.
Cursing the Google God. The Webmaster Tools console confirms that nearly 200 pages from Eanfar.org have been indexed by Google for a long time, which means Google is certainly aware of the website, but none of the pages actually appear in Google’s search results anymore. Since Google wields God-like power over every human’s life today, if your website doesn’t appear in the search results, you don’t exist. And when you become a victim of unjust censorship, defamatory garbage, and legal loopholes from which Google and other online gatekeepers make money, cursing them is certainly justified, but cursing is not enough.1 2
Most Censorship is Driven by State/Corporate Power (Not Ideology). The number of censorship victims is increasing and they can be found across the ideological spectrum. Conservative and Liberal websites, famous tech reporters, and many more have been banished by the Google/Facebook gods for (apparently) nothing more than speaking out against corporate and government abuses of power.3 4 5 6 7 8 Everybody should be alarmed by the size, ubiquity, collusive and coercive nature of government and corporate power today.
Convergence of State and Corporate Interests. Giant companies like Google have created their monopolies by secretly exploiting the illicit convergence of exploding state and corporate power. Corporate self-interest to exploit lucrative government contracts and diluted antitrust regulations has converged with the interests of career politicians who have incentives to exploit unprecedented surveillance power to serve themselves. The NSA, CIA, FBI and large swaths of the national security complex depend on Google, Facebook, and the surveillance capabilities of private corporations to perform unconstitutional domestic surveillance and psychological warfare operations on mass populations using military-grade technologies.9 10 11 12 13 14 These activities and abuses of power are invisible and unimaginable to many people unless they spend a meaningful amount of time learning and thinking about their implications and consequences.
Fascism Rises Quickly in Response to Rapid Socioeconomic Change. Many people are afraid to speak out against powerful companies like Google, which is understandable considering how much power Google now has over our lives. But the longer you hide and cower in fear, the sooner you will find yourself in a fascist, all-consuming surveillance state of tyranny with no meaningful freedom at all. Adolf Hitler only needed 14 years to enter German politics in 1919 and ascend to ultimate power in 1933. During that time, Germany was wrecked by social, economic, and political upheaval, which made Hitler’s rise inevitable. The same dynamics are occurring in the U.S. today, which will have catastrophic consequences for our planet as the U.S. exports its problems worldwide.
Fascism on the Right and Left is Rising. Anybody who thinks only Conservatives are predisposed to Fascism should recall that Hitler was the leader of the “National Socialist German Workers’ Party” and Stalin was a socialist before he was a murderous communist. Fascism is not an ideology; it’s a socioeconomic outcome directly caused by the concentration and convergence of corporate and state power. Regardless of whether the government is controlled by liberals or conservatives, Fascism occurs when the incentives and interests of corporations and governments converge into a corporate welfare state. The corporate welfare state then hijacks the political and law enforcement apparatus of government to serve the interests of corporations and their shareholders at the expense of the general population.
Meaningful Solutions Threaten the Status Quo. Because they are beholden to their shareholders, these gargantuan companies cannot acknowledge how they are destroying Capitalism, liberty, the social integrity of our communities, our environment, and the value creation engines of every society on Earth today. My book represents a threat to all Transnational Cannibals, including Google, who resist any attempt to stop the abusive overgrowth of their power.15 So I’m not surprised that the Google god would punish Eanfar.org for revealing the truth and for presenting meaningful, realistic, nonpartisan solutions.
Do You Want Fascism or Freedom? This article has only scratched the surface of the liberty-killing concentration and convergence of state and corporate power on Earth today. Nobody can credibly deny the economic and social liberties we’ve already lost and the imminent threat to our planet from violent tyranny and fascism. We all have a choice: We can hide and hope all the problems go away; or we can embrace our strength in numbers, resist tyranny and unjust censorship at all times, and energetically promote nonpartisan values and solutions that can make a meaningful, positive impact in our world.
Please Help Humanity Resist Fascism. The Google god directly or indirectly controls approximately 90% of the search engine traffic in nearly all countries on Earth today. I wrote the book to present realistic, politically viable, nonpartisan solutions that can prevent Transnational Cannibals from destroying Capitalism and the integrity of our social, economic, and environmental ecosystems. But now that Eanfar.org is censored by Google, I need your help. Please, link to Eanfar.org and spread the word about the book. The book is short, engaging, and includes many images and guideposts—definitely not boring! Then you will see why even the almighty Google god is afraid of it.
UPDATE: Thank you to all who visited this page and linked to Eanfar.org and complained to Google about my site being unjustly censored. Google has begun displaying Eanfar.org in their search results again. They still have not restored the site’s previous rank for several keywords, which is frustrating, but it’s a step in the right direction. This proves we can make a difference when we use our strength in numbers!
UPDATE 2: A month after I published this article, Google censorship blasted into the mainstream media after Google shutdown the free speech of a think-tank that supported the European Union’s strong resistance against Google’s world domination.
